From Politico’s Marc Caputo, 06/16/2016:

Melissa Sellers, Gov. Rick Scott’s former chief of staff who managed his re-election campaign in 2014, has been hired as a consultant for Carlos Beruff’s U.S. Senate campaign in a sign that he’s prepared to stay in the race even if Sen. Marco Rubio reverses course and decides to run for re-election.

“We’re thrilled to have Melissa on board. Her experience running Gov. Scott’s successful reelection campaign and her insight from years of experience will be an invaluable resource going forward,” the campaign said in a written statement.

With Sellers’ hiring, Beruff’s campaign looks like a reunion party for Scott’s 2014 team. Beruff’s campaign is using Scott’s general consulting firm, OnMessage. Beruff’s campaign manager, Matt Parker, worked on Scott’s 2010 and 2014 campaigns. And Scott’s 2014 war-room director, Chris Hartline, is Beruff’s communications director.
