From The Hill’s Ben Kamisar, 04/30/2018:
Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s (R) Senate campaign says it raised $3.2 million in the three weeks since announcing his bid, a major show of fundraising force in his bid against Sen. Bill Nelson (D). … The figure represents much Nelson raised during the first three months of 2018.
… The release from the campaign notes that the total doesn’t include contributions made by Scott himself. The wealthy former healthcare executive has shown a willingness to spend millions on his own political bids, and is expected to spend again this time.
… Florida’s Senate race is expected to be one of — if not the most — expensive Senate races in history.
From The Palm Beach Post‘s George Bennett, 04/30/2018:
That’s the same amount Nelson’s campaign recently trumpeted as its record-breaking haul for the entire first quarter of 2018. … Three-term incumbent Nelson began April with $10.5 million in cash on hand for what is expected to be one of the nation’s premier 2018 Senate races.
