Mr. Beruff’s name may not mean a lot to folks in other parts of our state, but his reputation as the owner of Medallion Homes and partner in the Aqua by the Bay (Long Bar Pointe) development on the last remaining 3-mile stretch of relatively undisturbed mangrove shoreline in Sarasota Bay should ring a bell.

As a matter of fact, he and his development interests have been under scrutiny for molesting bald eagle nests and bulldozing green space buffer zones of abutting properties in the area. These are just a couple of instances, there have been others, which have been well documented in the local press.
